Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga's son Jaoko Oburu has been shortlisted for a top siaya county job. 

A list seen by Nairobi Leo shows that Jaoko is among the candidates set to be interviewed for the position of partnerships and resource mobilization coordinator.

The job's role includes consolidation of the county voice which informs the effective design and implementation of programmes supported by external resources.

He will also be required to increase linkages between County Governments, and investment opportunities, among other duties.

“Jaoko Oburu to appear for interviews at the county education offices on April 13 at 5 pm,” the list reads.

Jaoko served as Siaya County’s Roads and Public Works Executive under governor Cornel Rasanga.

In the 2022 elections, he was part of the team that formed Azimio Young Turks whose aim was to drum up support for ODM leader Raila Odinga's presidential bid.

Jaoko performed political roles ahead of the 2013 elections.

He was part of the youthful team that formed the Friends of Raila pressure group.

Others were his longtime friends Agingo Rapemo (treasurer) and Ken Kirimania (chairman). Jaoko became the founding patron.

He has played a key role in advancing the political agendas of key family members like his father and uncle Raila.
