"I am the one you ran against, if you have an issue with me come face me," Ruto said.

President William Ruto has dared ODM leader Raila Odinga to a duel saying he should stop targeting ordinary people in a war that aims at him.

Speaking in Kisii on Friday, March 24 the President said Raila should let the ordinary people continue with their work instead of organising demos that disrupt the well-being of ordinary businesses.

Ruto said if Raila has issues with him, he should take on him head-on and stop the sideshows.

"Tuheshimiane. Stop the arrogance and face me.  Stop paralysing the businesses of Mama mboga, matatu and other Kenyans. I am the one you ran against, if you have an issue with me come face me," Ruto said.

He went on to ask the opposition leader to give him space to deliver on his election pledges instead of organising demos.

ODM leader Raila Odinga during Monday demos.

"Huyo jamaa anipatie nafasi nipange mambo ya wakenya, nipange barabara, mambo ya housing, mambo ya kuzalisha chakula awache kunisumbua na maandamano," Ruto added.

Ruto was speaking on the second day of his tour of the Kisii region.

Raila has announced that the opposition will hold twin demos every week on Monday and Thursday to protest against the rise in the cost of living and among other reasons that include election reforms.

DP Gachagua, however, on Thursday said no property will be destroyed on Monday during the protest hinting that a tougher security measure has been put in place to guarantee traders' safety.
