Former Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Kenya Commercial Bank Group PLC.
In a statement, KCB through its secretary Bonnie Okumu said Kinyua will serve on the Board starting March 24.
Kinyua's 44 years in public service were cited as one of the reasons he was appointed to the role.
"He has a wealth of experience in implementing key government initiatives and reforms including the liberalization of the banking sector, the foreign exchange market and the trade and capital accounts of the balance of payments among other initiatives," the statement read.
Kinyua had an illustrious career in Public Service for over 40 years.
During his four decades of service, he served Kenya's four presidents including Daniel Moi, Mwai Kibaki, Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto for a few months.
He served as Head of Public Service and Uhuru tenure from 2013 to October 27, 2022, when he retired.
He was appointed permanent secretary in 2002 a few months before Moi proceeded to retirement.
