The message was Kindiki's first despite the country witnessing unprecedented chaos on Monday.

Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-ordination of National government Kithure Kindiki has weighed in on the Monday chaos that saw the country witness Azimio La Umoja demos and at the same time looting in Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's Northlands City farm.

At the same time, a gas cylinder firm owned by Azimio Leader Raila Odinga was equally attacked by stone-throwing youths.

The attack on Uhuru farm and that of the Spectre Firm East Africa owned by Raila saw police keep off even as a number were deployed to manage Raila demos.

Reacting to the developments, the interior CS sent out a cryptic message saying:

"We must protect our Country from sliding into irretrievable anarchy."

The message was Kindiki's first despite the country witnessing unprecedented chaos on Monday.

Being a CS for interior, Kindiki is tasked with ensuring that all corners of the country are safe.

Ahead of Monday's demos, the CS had issued a statement proposing major reforms in how freedom of picketing is implemented.

The CS sought, among other issues, to have a law that will ensure the organizers of the demos pay for the losses incurred by the business.

He also stated that the government needs to make a law that will limit the number of protesters.

He also wants those affected by protests consulted before making the decision.
