Fourteen People have been confirmed dead after a grisly road accident involving a Pwani University bus and a Matatu at Kayole area on the Naivasha-Nakuru highway on Thursday, March 30.

According to reports, the university bus was carrying thirty people among them students and teachers headed to Eldoret for a national sports competition.

The Pwani University bus collided with the 14-seater matatu before it overturned. The injured people have been rushed to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

Rift valley police boss Tom Odera has confirmed the accident noting that the death toll may rise.

Odera said that the bus Pwani University driver lost control and hit at least five vehicles before rolling into a ditch.

Rescue operations involving police, members of the public, and workers from the Naivasha fire brigade are ongoing.

Motorists using the route have also been advised to be cautious as they approach the scene.
