The two bodies were taken to a hospital morgue in Longisa

A man in Bomet has reportedly slashed his two children to death in Ng'ainet area, Bomet County.  

The 28-year-old, Hillary Kibet, according to police, hacked to death his two sons and attempted suicide by consuming acaricide poison.  

The sons were two and three years old.  

The accused is said to have used a tea pruning knife to commit the offence. The minors are said to have bled profusely to death. 

Reports indicate that he had a disagreement with his wife that resulted in her leaving the homestead. 

The suspect, after the heinous act, reportedly consumed the acaricide poison in an attempted suicide and went to confess to his parents living adjacent to his house that he had killed his children and was also going to die.

The accused after Committing the offence is said to have alerted neighbours who responded.

The suspect was pinned down by rowdy members of the public and handed over to the local administration before police arrived.

He was given first aid at a local health center and referred to Longisa county referral hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Sources say his wife left the homestead after getting wind that her husband was planning to kill her following unending squabbles between the two, leaving behind the juveniles in the care of their father.
