In 2018, Ruto launched the same Road he commissioned on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

President William Ruto on Thursday found himself in the spotlight after he commissioned a road he launched in 2018 when he was serving as Deputy President.

It all began after Ruto tweeted on Thursday that he had launched Captain- Ndemi-Wanjohi-Kwa Matu-Geta-Kahuruko-Ndunyu Njeru road.

"Earlier launched the tarmacking of the 55km captain- Ndemi-Wanjohi-Kwa Matu-Geta-Kahuruko-Ndunyu Njeru and addressed wananchi at the Ndunyu Njeru trading centre at Ol Kalou town," Ruto's Thursday, April 6, 2023 tweet read.

But in a rejoinder, Kenyans shared screenshots of a tweet made in 2018 indicating that the president had launched the same road.

"During the launch of construction works of the 55km Captain- Ndemi-Wanjohi-Kwa Matu-Geta-Kahuruko-Ndunyu Njeru and Access to Karima Girls High School Roads at Captain and Opening of Ol Kalou CDF office, Ol Kalou Nyandarua county," Ruto's November 16, 2018 tweet read.

In the recent tweet, Ruto is wearing a reflector jacket, checked shirt and white cap.
