The Azimio la Umoja has raised concerns about the Kenya Kwanza bipartisan team arguing that some of the members would sabotage the talks.

Speaking on Tuesday, April 11 in Parliament, National Assembly Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi faulted the section of Eldas Member of Parliament Adan Keynan to the Kenya Kwanza team saying that he is a member of the Azimio coalition.

"We are totally surprised and stunned by the fact that they have appointed Hon Adan Keynan who is a member of the Azimio la Umoja Coalition," said Wandayi.

Keynan was among the 30 Jubilee party legislators who defected from Azimio on February and pledged to support President William Ruto’s government.

Wandayi also noted that the appointment of Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse of Maendeleo Chap Chap to the committee is a demonstration of bad faith.

"Legally, Jubilee Party and Maendeleo Chap Chap remain bonified members of the Azimio la Umoja Coalition," Wandayi added.

Other lawmakers who will represent the Kenya Kwanza camp during the bi-partisan talks with the opposition include; Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei, Taita Taveta Women Rep Lydia Haika, nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri and Tharaka MP George Murugara.

Azimio unveiled their team last week which includes Senators Edwin Sifuna, Ledama Ole Kina, Enock Wambua, MPs Amina Mnyanzi (Malindi), Millie Odhiambo (Suba North), David Pkosing (Pokot South) and Otiende Amollo (Rarieda).
