Shioso recently took over as the Commandant of National Police College Main Campus Kiganjo, Nyeri County.

President William Ruto has appointed former Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso to be the Director-General of the Kenya Coast Guard Service. 

In a gazette notice dated Wednesday, April 12, Shioso will serve as the Director-General of the Kenya Coast Guard Service for a period of four years. 

"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 17 (1) of the Kenya Coast Guard Service Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, appoint— Bruno Isohi Shioso to be the Director-General of the Kenya Coast Guard Service, for a period of four (4) years, with effect from the 12th April 2023," the gazette notice read in part. 

Shioso recently took over as the Commandant of National Police College Main Campus Kiganjo, Nyeri County.

This came after the appointment of Japhet Koome as the new Inspector General of Police by President Ruto in November 2022. 

Before that, Shioso has been serving as the police spokesperson since August 2021.
