Wandayi also claimed that the hackers have held a meeting with a former IEBC chairman and CEO.

National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi has sensationally claimed that hackers from Venezuela have been hired to tamper with the Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission (IEBC) servers.

Speaking during a civil society meeting at Ufungamano Hall, Nairobi on Thursday, April 13, Wandayi claimed the hackers have been tasked with filling the IEBC server with falsified records to dupe Azimio should the government be pressured to open it.

“We are aware that Venezuelans have been here for the past three or so weeks. They were sent to tamper with the IEBC server so that eventually if the pressure is too much on the government they can open it up and find falsified records.

“We have been trailing those Venezuelans, they have managed to escape our dragnet. Last week they were staying in a hotel in Kileleshwa, when they realized we are on their tracks they moved. They are on the run but still in the country,” said Wandayi.

The Ugunja MP also claimed that the hackers held a meeting with a former IEBC chairman and CEO.

“We are also aware they have had a meeting with a former IEBC chairman and CEO. We want to caution them wherever they are and their sponsors that they are on our radar and we cannot allow this country to move on unless we open the server and get the truth,” he added.
