Azimio la Umoja Leader Raila Odinga has claimed that the police officer who was killed during anti-government demonstrations in Kisumu is his grandson.

Speaking on Thursday, April 13 during a meeting at Ufangamano Hall in Nairobi, Raila stated that he is the one who helped the officer to join the police force.

“The police officer who was knocked in Kisumu is my grandson, his mother is my niece. I am the one who actually recruited him to the police,” said Raila.

The former Prime Minister at the same time threatened to sue police officers who injured Azimio supporters during anti-government demonstrations.

“We have said as Azimio that we are going to take this matter to the highest court in the world. Our lawyers are already working on this and we are going to take the particulars of all police officers who took part in the deliberate shooting of innocent Kenyans to the court which is outside our jurisdiction,” he added.
