Raila said Uhuru supports the course taken by the Azimio coalition.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta sent an apology for missing Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance Murang’a Town hall meeting, ODM leader Raila Odinga has said. 

Addressing residents of the County on Thursday, April 20 Raila said Uhuru supports the course taken by the Azimio coalition.

He at the same time revealed that Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka also sent an apology.

"Nawatumia salamu kutoka kwa Uhuru na Kalonzo, hawangeweza kufika hapa leo," he said.

Raila is leading 'non-shareholders' meeting in Murang'a where they are addressing issues of their interest.

Former Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria and Narc Kenya Leader Martha Karua is present. 

The latest apology by Uhuru is not the first.

Raila and other Azimio leaders in Murang'a County. 

During the Azimio Parliamentary Group Meeting at Stoni Athi on April 6, Raila also said the former president had sent an apology for his absence.

He addressed the PG saying the president was interested in coming but he was unable due to unavoidable circumstances. 

“I bring apologies from our chairman Uhuru Kenyatta, he wanted to come but he was unable, but he said he will support whatever resolution we will make today,” Raila said.

Uhuru has kept under since he retired and is hardly seen in political meetings. 

He only addressed the public once after the burial of former Education CS George Magoha.
