Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi now wants Senator Ledama Ole Kina to resign for showing lack of confidence in the Senate.
The Narok Senator took to Twitter to castigate the senate for allowing counties to be denied etra Sh22 billion they needed to spur development in their areas.
Ledama termed the move by the Senate to approve proposals limiting resources to the county as a shock saying the perceived upper house is losing relevance.
"I am deeply saddened by the actions to deny Counties Money! For the first time in the History of Kenya. The Senate agreed with the National Assembly to deny County Governments Money!" He said.
"To be honest I do not see the relevance of the Senate anymore if the committee can agree with the CRA but KK whips its members to go against … we are cooked! Division of Revenue was our only hope!"
But in a rejoinder to his concerns, Lawyer Ahmednasir asked the Senator to quit office if he had no confidence in the Senate.
"Si you resign now," Ahmednasir replied to his message on not seeing the relevance of the Senate.
Counties will now get Sh385 billion in the next financial year after President William Ruto's allies passed the bill. Governors had sought Sh407 billion.
25 Kenya Kwanza legislators voted in favour of the Division of Revenue Bil, 2023.
Raila Odinga's allies had pushed for an amendment to give the counties Sh407 billion.
Minority senators stormed out of the chamber during the voting.
