Lang’ata Member of Parliament Nixon Korir has divulged that Deputy President William Ruto’s allies are set to walk out of Jubilee Party over what he terms as ‘madharau’.

Speaking during the funeral of Charles Olare Chebet at Solai in Rongai, Nakuru County Korir accused Jubilee of continuously despising the Deputy President and his allies.

He cited an incident where Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju banned DP Ruto and his allies from visiting the party headquarters in Pangani.

He further claimed that after President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election, he summoned Jubilee MPs and insulted them, only for him to seek their help during the 2017 repeat presidential election.

“Madharau yenye sisi tumeonyeshwa Jubilee sisi tunaondoka kule Jubilee. Tangu nichaguliwe sijawahi keti na rais wangu tuongee mambo ya Jubilee.

“Ile tuliongea ya kwanza tulipochaguliwa, Mungu ni wa ajabu, Uhuru Kenyatta alituita akatutukana kama watoto wadogo. Tuliitwa majina yote, tukavumilia. Siku ya pili election ikakuwa cancelled. Tena akakuja akatumbia tuombee. Tuju alisema William Ruto asikanyage ofisi ya Jubilee. Alisema William Ruto ni persona non grata. Sisi tumeamua hiyo Jubilee wakae nayo. Sisi tuko na chama yetu sasa inaitwa UDA,” he said as quoted by a local daily.

Meanwhile, DP Ruto’s allies have been warming up to the recently registered UDA party an indication that they could use it in the 2022 election.
