Embattled Jubilee Party Vice Chair David Murathe has finally broken his silence on political happenings for the first time after the August 9, 2022 elections. 

Speaking in the wake of bids to kick him and Jubilee SG Jeremiah Kioni out of the party, Murathe said he remains firmly in Azimio even though he has been missing demos. 

He said the move to miss demos was deliberate because President William Ruto's administration has scouting for excuses to impose the demos' blame on former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"They have always been trying to link these Maandamano's to the former president. So, some of us have tried to deliberately not be out there though we are firmly in Azimio," Murathe said in an interview with NTV.

The embattled vice-chair however said he will be joining the Azimio demos going forward noting that he will be among the leaders who will welcome Azimio leader Raila Odinga back to the country on Friday.

"I'll be on the maandamano and I'll be at the airport to receive Raila Amollo Odinga," he said.

The Jubilee party is facing wrangles over leadership after MPs elected on its ticket moved to President William Ruto's camp.

The move saw the MPs meet in Naivasha during which they announced new leadership after a NEC meeting.

EALA MP Kanini Kega was named acting secretary General to replace Kioni with ELdas MP Adan Keynan named acting vice chair.
