Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has convened Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference.

Despite exiting the office about eight months ago, Uhuru has remained the Jubilee party leader.

"Pursuant to articles 8.1 and 10.1 of the Jubilee Party constitution, notice is hereby issued got special National Delegates Convention to be held on May 22, 2023," an advert in a local daily read.

The function will be held at the Bomas of Kenya beginning at 10 am.

The agenda of the meeting include review, formulate and approve party policies.

The NDC will also receive the status report of the National Executive Committee and consider and approve any other matters.

The NDC comes in the wake of infighting in the Jubilee party with one camp allied to Kanini Kega engaging in leadership wrangles to that allied to current SG Jeremiah Kioni.

Kega side has managed to pull all elected MPs and enjoys the support of the executive committee while Kioni enjoys the backing of party leader Uhuru.

Kega and his allies met in Nakuru during which it was resolved that the EALA MP will be acting party secretary general, a decision protested by Kioni and his allies.

The wrangles escalated on Wednesday when two rival groups clashed at the party's headquarters.

Kega and his team had gone to occupy the office when they were met with resistance from Kioni's side.

The wrangles forced Uhuru to visit the party headquarters during which he said party issues will be addressed by the outfit.
