Oginde will replace emeritus Archbishop Eliud Wabukala who retired in January after serving for six years.

President William Ruto has appointed Bishop David Oginde as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC). 

In a gazette notice issued on Tuesday, May 2, Oginde will serve in EACC for a period of six years.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 (5) of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2011, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint — David Adang Oginde (DR.) to be the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, for a period of the (6) years,” the notice read.

President Ruto had nominated Oginde for the position in March following recommendations of the Public Service Commission.

He will replace emeritus Archbishop Eliud Wabukala who retired in January after serving for six years at the helm of the EACC. 

Oginde who the immediate former Presiding Bishop Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA. 

He also has a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the University of Nairobi in addition to undertaking Biblical Studies at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Trinity International University) in Illinois, USA.
