“I have never reconciled in my mind that we lost this election... There could be an element of truth in the rigging."

Embattled Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe has disclosed that he is yet to recover from the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance loss in the August 9, 2022 polls.

Speaking at the Jubilee party offices during a meeting on Thursday, Murathe said the loss was occasioned by the failure of Jubilee to field a presidential candidate.

He noted that the move not to field a candidate for the presidency left people moving in different directions.

“The reason mambo ilienda vile ilienda is because Jubilee had no candidate, whenever you go into an election and you have no presidential candidate watu wanaenda hivi hivi,” he said.

He was addressing some of the Jubilee party delegates during a meeting at the party offices Thursday.

It is during his address that he went on to say that he has never healed from the loss.

He admitted that the allegations of rigging in the poll could be true.

“I have never reconciled in my mind that we lost this election... There could be an element of truth in the rigging but where we are now, we forge ahead,” he added.

Murathe is among the Jubilee officials facing an ouster by a section of members allied to EALA MP Kanini Kega and nominated MP Sabina Chege.

The group has appointed the replacement for Murathe, Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta and Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni.

The wrangles have left the party with a lack of clear direction in terms of leadership.
