Governor James Orengo and his deputy William Oduol have not been on good terms.

A scuffle was witnessed in funeral ceremony in Alego Usonga, Siaya County, where Governor James Orengo and his deputy William Oduol were in attendance.

The two leaders' differences played out in the public yet again at the event on Saturday, May 13.

For a time, despite heading Siaya County jointly, Orengo and Oduol have not been in good terms.

Their supporters clashed as they attended the burial of the late Siaya County Public Service Board chair Elijah Achoch.

The scuffle started when Orengo's supporters booed Oduol who had been given a chance to speak.

The deputy governor's supporters responded before the microphone was taken from him.

While addressing the mourners, Orengo was also heckled by his deputy's supporters in an apparent retaliation.

The chief cleric presiding over the funeral was forced to end the function.

He said the remainder of the funeral would only feature the bereaved family, friends, and relatives to the seclusion of politicians and their supporters.
