Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi On Monday, May 15 announced her post-rehabilitation plan for addicts.

Speaking in Shimanzi, Mombasa County, Pastor Dorcas stated that drug addicts have the same needs as other people but drugs deter them from achieving success.

“Drug addicts are good people. When I listen to you, the needs you have are similar to those of other people. You desire jobs, food, clothing, and shelter just like other citizens. However, you must realise, God has a plan over your life, but the drugs are dragging your life from success,” said Pastor Dorcas.

The Second Lady stated that her plan for recovering addicts is to get them into TVETs so that they can be equipped with skills that will help them.

“Those who go through rehabilitation, we shall have a plan for you to go to TVETs and get training as plumbers, carpenters, welders, and others. Some of you have also expressed desire to do fishing, and all you are asking for are boats,” she said.

Pastor Dorcas also pointed out the need for women who are addicted to drugs to have a rehabilitation facility that considers care for their children.

“We might not implement all interventions all at once, but we need a shelter for the women who have children to be properly rehabilitated,” said Pastor Dorcas.

Pastor Dorcas further stated that her other vision to help the recovering addicts was the local manufacture of organic fertilizer and building blocks.
