Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said the changes seek to ensure relevant state departments are well-suited to implement various state programmes.

President William Ruto has nominated Faith Njeri Harrison for appointment for the position of Principal secretary.

Njeri has been assigned to the office of Prime Cabinet Secretary where she will serve as PS, State Department for performance management.

She fills the vacancy created after the sacking of former Health PS Josephine Mburu.

In consequence, the President resigned his PSs resulting in a vacancy at the Prime CS office.

In the reshuffle, Ruto moved  Esther Ngero from her role of performance and management at the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to the State Department of Correctional Services under the Ministry of Interior.

PS Medical Services Peter Tum of the Ministry of Health has been reassigned to the Ministry of Sports.

Jonathan Mueke, who was in the sports ministry, will now work as the PS Livestock under the Ministry of Agriculture.

Livestock PS Harry Kimutai has been taken to the State Department for Medical Services, while his Correctional Services counterpart Mary Muthoni will serve under the MoH as the PS, Public Health and Professional Standards.

Gitonga Mugambi has been moved to the Ministry of Environment under the State Department for Forestry after PS Ephantus Kimani was moved to the Ministry of Water as the Irrigation PS replacing Mugambi.
