President William Ruto on May 16 nominated Noordin Haji as the Director General of the National Intelligence Service (NIS).

Director General of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) nominee Noordin Haji has declined to reveal his net worth.

While appearing before the Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday, May 30, Haji stated that his net worth will be a national security issue if he is approved to assume office.

"Honourable chair, I was going to request considering the sensitivity of the office I will hold, that I give this to your committee because it might be a national security issue at some point,” said Haji.

He instead handed over a document detailing his wealth to Belgut MP Nelson Koech who is the chairperson of the Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee.
