"Oh, gracious God! This one never consulted me. How crude! I always support my church privately."

Former Mukuweini MP Kabando Wa Kabando on Thursday protested an invite to a local church harambee where he was to assist the guest of honour in raising funds.

The former MP while taking to Twitter expressed his displeasure with the invite saying he was not consulted.

Kabando went on to say he prefers keeping a low profile on the matter concerning the church saying he does not mix politics with religious issues.

The former MP was reacting to a harambee invite shared by Reverand Rachel Munene.

"Oh, gracious God! This one never consulted me. How crude! I always support my church privately or in the community with others. I never politicise roles in God's work. I just called her, and other elders, about this mischief. We know where who, how, why this conspiracy. Hate. Vanity," he said.

The Harambee is to happen at Muhito PCEA church in  Mukuruweini, Nyeri County.

In the invite, Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga has been listed as the guest of honour and will be assisted by Kabando.

Wamatinga and Kabando contested the Nyeri senatorial seat in the 2022 elections but the former won on the UDA ticket.

Kabando was eying the seat on the Narc Kenya party under Azimio La Umoja.

The fundraising aims at raising funds to kick start a project that will be put on land acquired by the church.
