Trade CS Moses Kuria has appointed his August 9, 2022, general election running mate to a government position. 

Investments, Trade, and Industry Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has appointed his former running mate Faith Mwaura to be a member of the Kenya Development Corporation.

According to a gazette notice dated June 15, 2023, Mwaura serve in the corporation for three years replacing Mboche Waithaka whose appointment has been revoked.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (e) of the State Corporations Act, as read together with section 51 of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry appoints Faith Mwaura to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Development Corporation, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 16th June, 2023. The appointment of Mboche Waithaka is revoked,” the notice read.

Mwaura was CS Kuria’s running mate during the August 9 2022 general election when he unsuccessfully vied for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat under the Chama Cha Kazi party.

The former Gatundu South MP finished in fifth place behind Governor Kimani Wamatangi, Patrick Wainaina, William Kabogo, and James Nyoro.

In other appointments, CS Kuria appointed Grace Otieno and Judith Kerich as members of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Accreditation Service, for a period of three (3) years.
