Some customers claimed they had faced internet challenges for over a week.

Telkom Kenya has addressed complaints by a majority of its customers who have been decrying connection downtime.

The telecommunication company's subscribers have been registering their frustration with the challenge that has spanned for weeks now.

Using social media, the customers took on the company for failing to address the issue in a timely manner.

The company was also faulted for not issuing an update of a possible connection disruption to enable its clientele to plan accordingly.

However, responding to the queries, Telkom acknowledged the existence of an internet connection challenge but assured that its technical team was on top of things.

The company sought clemency from its irate customers stating that a timely update on the state of the network would be issued.

"Our sincere apologies the issue has taken longer than anticipated, our team is working to resolve this with utmost priority as soon as there's an update it will be communicated," said the company.

The company established in 1999 has lately been the subject of discussion following a saga involving the Kenyan government.

The state had paid monies to a private company to fully own the telco firm, but the acquisition is yet to be actualised.

The National Assembly in Nairobi has been probing the goings-on of the acquisition process.

Kenya reportedly paid Sh 6 billion to Helios Investment to acquire Telkom.

Despite the payment, Kenya has only 37% shareholding.
