Speaker Kingi had to temporarily suspend the session after the exit occasioned a quorum hitch.

Azimo Senators on Wednesday morning walked out of the Senate after Trade and Industry CS Moses Kuria presented himself for a question and answer session.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna wanted the CS barred from the Senate chamber having pushed for a censure motion against him.

Sifuna protested that the CS would use the session to cleanse himself over Edible Oil Scandal and for attacking Nation Media Group.

"I have filed a motion to discuss CS Kuria’s conduct. The constitution, which guarantees media freedom, must be upheld. A person in such a capacity should not be allowed to make such remarks," Sifuna stated.

But in his ruling, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi ruled in favour of CS Kuria being allowed the question and answer the question saying the censure motion was yet to be tabled.

"I have not seen the proposed motion by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna. It cannot be a subject of discussion on the floor of the House today," Kingi said.

"Assuming that the proposed motion was submitted to the Office of the Speaker, it may have not been admissible. What we are doing is anticipating debates, contrary to Standing Order 99."

The Speaker had to suspend the Senate session temporarily since the exit of Azimio Senators made the house lack quorum.
