Former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi was on Friday, July 7 arrested in Nyahururu town for unknown reasons.

In a video seen by nairobileo.co.ke, the former county boss questioned the police why they were arresting him and if he had broken the law.

“The question you are not answering as a police officer is what law have we broken by being here?” he posed.

The Azimio la Umoja allied politician is currently being detained at the Nyahururu police station. he was arrested alongside Jubilee politician Sarolyne Mwendia. 

The arrest comes as the Azimio la Umoja coalition has called on its supporters to protest against the Kenya Kwanza regime.

The Raila Odinga-led coalition is having several Saba Saba rallies across the country in a move to have its supporters own up the resistance at the grass root level.

Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Roots Party leader George Wajackoya, and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa are leading protests in the western region and have paralyzed transport services along the Kisumu-Busia Highway.
