DP Gachagua expressed his disappointment in the loss of lives and properties.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has described as "shame" the Wednesday protests that saw several people shot dead and properties of unknown value destroyed.

Speaking in Nairobi Thursday during the launch of a Parliamentary Conservation and Climate Change Caucus, the DP expressed his disappointment in the loss of lives and properties.

"I don't want to talk much about what happened...it is a shame and does not deserve my comment," he said.

The DP went on to challenge elected leaders to focus on delivering their mandate to Kenyans saying they have contractual obligations.

His message comes after Interior CS Kithure Kindiki pledged to arrest all those involved in the protest.

Violent protests that rocked the country on Wednesday.

Kindiki said even those who were involved in the financing of the protests will not be spared.

"The Government has tonight mobilised all the law enforcement agencies of the State and the institutions of our country’s criminal justice system to conclude investigations urgently and proceed to the arrest and prosecution of all those involved in the planning and execution of the crimes committed today, including those who funded or otherwise aided or abetted the offenders," Kindiki said.

So far, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has been arrested in connection to the protests in Mlolongo.

Makau was arrested on Thursday morning at his Karen home.

He is accused of hiring a group to protest in Mlolongo.
