Head of Public Service Felix Koskei has fired a warning shot at individuals using his name to intimidate State officers and extort money from them.

In a statement on Facebook on Friday, Koskei noted that a group of criminals has been using his name to acquire illegal favours in State offices.

"It has regrettably come to my attention that unscrupulous criminal elements are moving from one government office to the next intimidating state officials and extorting money in my name," Koskei said.

"I call upon Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and CEOs of state corporations to be wary of these crooks and promptly report them to the appropriate authorities for swift action."

Koskei, who doubles up as State House Chief of Staff, further said they will ensure those who take part in the illegal activity are held into account.

He said no one should fall victim to anyone using the name of senior state officers to seek government favours since that era is long gone.

"The era of criminals taking advantage of gullible Kenyans seeking jobs and government services by misusing the names of senior state officials is long gone, and firm action will be taken against these elements," he added.
