The fresh bipartisan talks will begin on Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya. 

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has appointed Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni as the head of the legal and technical team during the bipartisan negotiations with Kenya Kwanza.

Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, August 8, at the SKM Command Centre in Karen, Nairobi, Raila said Kioni will the technical and legal team will support the Azimio delegation which is being led by Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

“We have put in place a technical and legal to support our delegation to the dialogue, consequently, we have settled on Honorable Jeremiah Kioni, the secretary general of the Jubilee Party to head the legal and technical team to the talks,” said Raila.

He added, “We have tasked our delegation and technical teams under the able leadership of Kalonzo and Kioni to go to these talks with courage and open minds.”

The opposition chief noted that the Azimio coalition is committed to achieving a comprehensive settlement of the country’s problems through dialogue.

Raila further appealed to the Kenya Kwanza government to end propaganda against the opposition saying it will not solve any problem.

"Propaganda must now end because it has not solved our problems this past year and it won’t, in the coming year. Our people and the whole world are watching us, and we encourage them to watch us and to hold us to account," the ODM leader added.

The fresh bipartisan talks are set to begin on Wednesday, August 9 at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.

The Azimio team in the talks includes; Kalonzo, National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, DAP Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa, Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni, and Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi.

Kenya Kwanza side will be represented by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, EALA MP Hassan Omar, and Bungoma Women Rep Catherine Wambilianga.
