“Huyu Raila alitaka tumpatie sereikali nusu mkate tukasema hapana, alitaka handshake tukamwambia hakuna, akasema tumpatie ambassador watatu tukamwambia hakuna."

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed details of President William Ruto’s secret meeting with Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga in Mombasa last month.

Speaking on Tuesday during the burial of Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka’s mother in Machakos County, Gachagua claimed that the former Prime Minister wanted to be given half of the government and three ambassadorial posts.

Gachagua however said they did not agree to the demands but proposed they discuss giving Raila money to go retirement.

“Huyu Raila alitaka tumpatie sereikali nusu mkate tukasema hapana, alitaka handshake tukamwambia hakuna, akasema tumpatie ambassador watatu tukamwambia hakuna. Tukasema ukitaka pesa kidogo ya kukula we can discuss ukienda nyumbani,” said Gachagua.

The second in command at the same time said the ongoing bipartisan talks between Kenya Kwanza and Azimio nothing bear anything terming them a waste of time.

“Nothing will come out of those talks it is a waste of time I am telling you as deputy president of the republic of Kenya,” Gachagua stated.

He alleged that Raila already stated what he wanted in Mombasa and the talks are just a formality.

“Hakuna kitu hapo ya kuzungumza, Raila tayari alisema mambo yake, alimalizia Mombasa. Hii ni mambo tu ya kuzungumza there is nothing. Ndio maana sisi tumetuma Kimani Ichungwah, Aaron Cheruiyot na Cecily Mbarire mimi na Rais tukiendelea na Kazi,” said the DP.

President Ruto and Raila on July agreed to resume the bipartisan talks with five members from each side. The two camps have already met three times for the dialogue at the Bomas of Kenya.

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo who was set to facilitate the talks has never been spotted during the negotiations.
