"I'm just asking you because I have seen you inciting Kenyans...the problem with you and that is why your Azimio lost," Moses Kuria said.

A Citizen TV interview meant to discuss President William Ruto's scorecard in office a year on went ugly after Trade and Industry CS Moses Kuria started censuring the station over their alleged allegiance to the Azimio coalition.

Trouble started after the  CS said the price of the cooking oil had drastically reduced after President William Ruto took power in a  year ago.

"Don't forget there is somebody who is watching you from a supermarket, so be careful," the CS told Citizen TV Journalist Sam Gituku

"Let's take cooking oil for example. It's much lower than what you project there and Kenyans know that," he added.

He claimed that the price was retailing at about Sh250, an amount that was subjected to a real situation on the ground test.

Citizen TV Journalist Sam Gituku.

Citizen TV went live in a supermarket in Eldoret and beamed the prices of cooking oil per litter, a majority of which were retailing at Sh320- 360.

Despite showing evidence of what Kenyans were paying for the commodity, the CS objected to the proof and accused Citizen TV of falsifying information on the price of the commodity.

Seemingly out of emotion, the CS went on to accuse the Station of being consistent with lies saying they tried the same when pushing for ODM leader Raila Odinga's presidential bid.

"Well, I'm just saying let us reconfirm that but I know for sure that edible oil is much much lower than that, anyway, I digress. I'm just asking you because I have seen you inciting Kenyans...the problem with you and that is why your Azimio lost...you are consistent with getting it wrong," he said.
