Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Friday, September 22 met during the burial ceremony of the late Field Marshal Muthoni Wa Kirima in Tetu, Nyeri County.
Kalonzo was in the company of former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa, former Murang'a governor Mwangi wa Iria, former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga and former Nyeri deputy governor Caroline Karungu.
Other leaders who attended the burial included Trade CS Moses Kuria, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, and Laikipia Governor Karie Badilisha among others.

The Field Marshall who played a key role in Kenya’s struggle for independence died on September 5 at the aged of 92.
Muthoni was pronounced dead at Radiant Hospital in Pangani where she was rushed moments after developing health complications.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta earlier eulogized Muthoni as a patriot, a great warrior, and one of the most revered Mau Mau Shujaa freedom fighters.
“Her footprints, especially in the forest, moulded and played a crucial role in supporting like-minded leaders, in the fight of freeing our country from the colonialists and for Kenyans’ rights of political, social and economic growth towards our country’s freedom, independence, and development,” he stated.
Mama Ngina Kenyatta on her part said it was a privilege and honor to share memories with the late field marshal during the struggle for independence.
“I thank God for the privilege and honor to have known and shared the very challenging difficult period in our country during the colonial government, together with many others, including Field Marshall Muthoni wa Kirima, nyina wa thonjo,” she stated.
