  •  Isaac Ruto and Deputy President William Ruto will have a crucial meeting that could change Uhuru's camp.

Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader Isaac Ruto is said to be on his way to Deputy President William Ruto's camp.

The former Bomet governor hinted that he and DP Ruto were in negotiations before he agrees to support him in 2022.

"I may be the one who needs his support in 2022," Isaac declared.

Ruto will on Friday join Dr Ruto's camp handing his former ally-turned-foe a boost in efforts to consolidate his backyard.

Meeting

The DP is set to receive Ruto during an event to be held in Bomet in what is seen as part of his elaborate strategy to ring-fence his Rift Valley bastion ahead of next year's election.

He will be in Bomet to commission several projects, hand over a bus to the National Super League side Silibwet FC and later preside over a fundraiser for boda boda Saccos in Sotik, among other events.

Last month Isaac declared that he would back Baringo Senator Gideon Moi’s presidential bid in 2022.

“We are ready as a party to support you. Our party will field candidates up-to county level but for the top seat, we will support you,” Isaac stated.
