The Spokesperson in the Office of the Fourth President, Kanze Dena, has dismissed claims that Retired Pesident Uhuru Kenyatta declined to meet DP Leader Rigathi Gachagua.
Kanze, in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 12, flagged a letter to be authored by her as 'fake news'.
According to the doctored document, Uhuru's office admits it received multiple requests for an audience with Gachagua, which were purportedly declined.
The letter further claimed that the former Head of State declined to meet Gachagua because he does not align with his values, including bringing people together for a national purpose.

The doctored letter circulated online barely a month after Gachagua declared that, once he was done with the engagement fora in Wamunyoro, he would hold talks with Uhuru to chart the way forward.
"Uhuru and I are like peas in a pod, and when I am done with my consultation fora, I will have a sit-down with him before I make a final decision on the way forward. I will ask him for his advice because he once warned us, but we ignored him," Gachagua noted.
He further confirmed that he and Uhuru were working together and would provide guidance to the Mount Kenya region in the upcoming 2027 General Election.
The former President's involvement in politics has been in the Azimio Coalition party. Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka had revealed that the party would hold a meeting to chart its path ahead of the 2027 polls.
Earlier, the members of the United Opposition held a meeting amid talks of separation in the camp. The principals maintained that they were committed to field a single candidate to face President William Ruto on the ballot.
Gachagua intimated that People's Liberation Front Leader Martha Karua organised the meeting, and lauded her as a mother figure in the United Opposition.
