The lawmaker sustained injuries after falling during a basketball training session.

Lang'ata member of parliament Phelix Odiwuor commonly known as Jalang'o is recuperating after undergoing treatment.

The lawmaker sustained serious injuries on his left leg on Tuesday, September 26, when he fell on a basketball court.

Jalang'o was in a training session when the accident occurred.

He was admitted to The Nairobi Hospital where he underwent surgery on the evening of Thursday, September 28.

This was after a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan that established the seriousness of the injury.

The MP in a Facebook update said he was relieved of the pain following the surgery.

Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwuor was admitted to The Nairobi Hospital.

"Last Tuesday morning during our morning basketball training I had a bad fall that tore my Achilles tendon. I went in for surgery last night and I am now feeling much better. I want to thank all my brothers and workmates and team Langata for their prayers and support. Thank you," he said.

His colleagues and friends, among them Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and musician Akothee, visited him at the facility.

Akothee offered to stay with Jalang'o at the hospital throughout the evening of Friday, September 29.

"Today he is down. I will stay here with him tonight, just dance and make him laugh. The love I have for Jalang'o, no one can take away. Sometimes don't know what to give to the people I love so they can know who and what they mean to me get well soon osiepna ,I love you," she said.

Jalang'o plays for the National Assembly basketball team.
