“Tomorrow (Sunday), we have been given a special invitation as the UDA party and Kenya Kwanza alliance to represent our memorandum in the bipartisan talks."

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malalah has said he will hounour the National Dialogue Committee’s invitation to submit the ruling party’s memorandum regarding the ongoing talks between Azimio and Kenya Kwanza.

Speaking on Saturday September 30, Malalah said the Kenya Kwanza coalition supports the bipartisan talks fully to bring peace in the country.

“Tomorrow (Sunday), we have been given a special invitation as the UDA party and Kenya Kwanza alliance to represent our memorandum in the bipartisan talks. We, as Kenya Kwanza and especially UDA, will participate in representing our ideas in those bipartisan talks.

“One thing I would like to tell Kenyans is that as Kenya Kwanza, we support these negotiations between Kenya Kwanza and the Azimio coalition because we want peace in Kenya,” said Malalah.

The UDA SG however said the ruling party will not discuss or support calls to audit the 2022 presidential elections saying the matter was conclusively handled by the Supreme Court.

“One thing we do not support in these discussions is the suggestion that we should conduct an audit of the election that has already concluded. We finished the election, went to the Supreme Court, and President of the Republic of Kenya is William Ruto. We will not backtrack on that. As we submit our memorandum, our stance will come out clear,” Malalah added.

The National Dialogue Committee on Friday began meeting various groups that has submitted memoranda regarding the talks.

The committee had also invited former IEBC commissioners to make submissions on the conduct of the 2022 elections.

Former IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati nd former commissioners Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu declined the invitation while former commissioners Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Justus Nyang’aya and Francis Wanderi honoured the invite.
