The comprehensive tour will encompass Kisumu, Homa Bay, Siaya, and Migori counties.

President William Ruto will on Friday, October 6 embark on a four-day development tour to the Nyanza region.

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed in a statement on Thursday, October 5 said the comprehensive tour will encompass Kisumu, Homa Bay, Siaya, and Migori counties.

“This tour aims to launch various projects to enhance the residents' quality of life, aligning with the government's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

“The BETA agenda prioritizes critical areas such as bringing down the cost of living, eradicating hunger, job creation, expanding the tax base, improving foreign exchange balance, and promoting inclusive growth through interventions,” read the statement in part.

In Kisumu, the Head of State will launch the groundbreaking of the Kabonyo Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Center of Excellence in Nyando constituency, Commission the Lake Basin Mall, Launch the Koru-Bible College Road, and launch the MV Uhuru 2, a ship that will operate on Lake Victoria.

In Siaya County, Ruto will launch the upgrading to the Bitumen standard of the 27km Bondo- Uyawi-Kibanga-Liunda Road, launch a digital laboratory at Mutumbu Technical Training Institute and launch the construction of a Level 4 hospital in Ugenya constituency.

President Ruto will then visit Homa Bay County where he spearhead the launch of the construction of the 53 km Mfangano Island Ring Road, launch the upgrading to the Bitumen standard of the 74km Mbita- Sindo-Kiabuya-Sori Road, visit Victory Fish Farms in Sindo and launch the rehabilitation of the Homa Bay, Kendu Bay, Mbita, and Asembo Bay Piers.

He will also visit Migori County where he will launch the Last Mile water connectivity project at Kegonga, Kuria East, Commission a tuition block at Rongo University, Commission Uriri Hospital and launch the construction of the Mabera affordable Housing project in Kuria West constituency.

During the visit, Ruto will also engage with the residents of the region, meet farmers, and interact with local leaders.

The President will further chair a cabinet meeting at the Kisumu State Lodge in Kisumu County.
