"We will be doing so many things on the streets, having fun as we always do."

Former Citizen TV journalist Kimani Mbugua has thanked Kenyans for their generous donations after he went viral seeking help.

Kimani in an update shared on his Instagram page says he was back on his feet and was on course to re-establish his media career.

He said he has bought shooting equipment that will enable him to work on content that will thrill his fans.

"I am just overjoyed, and I just wanted to say thank you for the amount you gave. Every one of you who gave any amount of money I have received from Sh20, Sh50, Sh100 to Sh100,000. Thank you so, so much for helping me get back on my feet," Mbugua said.

"I bought a new shooting device and I got a lapel microphone, which means I am going back to the little streets where I belong."

Kimani said he will be announcing his new prospects soon and asked Kenyans to keep an eye on what he is cooking for them.

"We will be doing so many things on the streets, having fun as we always do. So, look out for that it is coming very soon. But for now, I just want to say thank you. Thank you so much to everyone who raised their money," Mbugua said.

Kimani went viral after a video of him announcing he had become homeless emerged.

In the Video, Kimani said he had recovered from the effects of drug abuse he was in but was going to be homeless after someone he was staying with said he would no longer be hosting him.

"I got out of the hospital last week and I feel my mind has come back to normal and I don't want to go back to the place where I used to be," he said.

"I came to look for somebody else who could host me but I didn't find. I just need your help."

The appeal saw several Kenyans swing into action to help him with donations.

Multiple reports indicate that Kimani was able to pocket more than Sh500,000 Kenyans raised to support him.
