A major reshuffle affecting at least 39 Senior State officials has been made, a letter seen by Nairobi Leo Indicates.

The State's Central Human Resource Management said the changes affecting the 39 senior government officers in various state departments take effect immediately.

The changes have affected the Secretary of Administration, Director of Administration, Senior Deputy Secretary, and Under secretaries.

Other positions affected are directors and deputy directors of various departments within the government. 

"The concerned ministries/Departments are required to release the affected officers immediately but not later than October 27,  2023," the letter directed.

In the changes, Chimwaga M. Mongo has been moved from the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration to the State Department for Roads. He will serve there as Secretary of Administration.

 Justine Wekhichu joins the State Department for ICT and Digital Economy as Director of Administration, George Waiguru (Foreign Affairs), and Vincent Ongere (Environment and Climate change).

Hiram M. Kahiro will remain at the State Department for Housing and Urban Development. He will serve as Secretary of Administration.

Mathias M. Rioba will now serve as Secretary of Administration in the State Department for Cooperatives.

Others who will serve as secretaries of administration are Moses M. Ivuto (Gender and Affirmative Action), Paul Mwangi (ASALs and Regional Development), and Abdrashid Jabane (Tourism).

Christine Mathu will be retained as director of Human Resource Management and Development at the Immigration and Citizen Services.

Joe Kaburu, Benard Kirui, Dennis Mirwoba and Anne Mwaniki will serve as deputy Directors of Human Resource Management and Development in State Departments for Economic Planning, Parliamentary Affairs, Roads and Livestock Development respectively.

Douglas Mutai has been retained as Senior Deputy Secretary at the State Department for Water and Sanitation.

Henry Nyabuto will be the new Deputy Director of Records Management at the State Department for Lands and Physical Planning.

Others who will serve in the same capacity are Henry Ngungu (National Treasury), Henry Ong'awa (Transport), Obed Nyanchiri (Immigration and Citizen services), Janet Mose (Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs), Mary Kamau (Cabinet Office), Beatrice Miruka (Tourism), Sandy Morara (Basic Education) and Maria Omwantho (Office of the Deputy President).

Florence Mulati (Transport), Grace Mogoi (Correctional Services), and Abdihakim Jubat (Internal Security and National Administration) where they will work as Deputy Secretaries.

Alex Onene will be the new Diaspora Affairs Under Secretary.

Other under secretaries are George Okong'o (Shipping and Maritime Affairs), Patrick Gikonyo (Trade), Joseph Kibusia (Basic Education), Sammy Muthai (Correctional Services), Charles Mukindia (Tourism), and Eliud Samuel (ICT and Digital Economy).

Felistus Chege has been moved to the State Department for Tourism where she will be deployed to KICC under Government Reception Services.

Benson Kinyua will be the Kenya Wildlife Service deputy Accountant General, while Cyrus Mageria will be the State Department for Wildlife Deputy Director Multilateral Environmental Agreement.

Charles Ahenda will be the new Director of Human Resource Management and Development at the State Department for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development.
