The trio are being investigated over alleged involvement in inciting violence.

Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket on Tuesday, October 31 appeared before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nakuru after he was summoned.

The DCI also summoned West Pokot Senator Julius Murgor and Sigor MP Peter Lochakapong for grilling.

According to a statement from the DCI, the three lawmakers are being investigated over alleged involvement in inciting violence.

“In exercise of powers conferred upon me under section 52(1) of the National Police Act of 2011, I Awino Ong'ale a police investigator attached at DCI RCIO's office Rift Valley, do hereby summon you Hon. Kamket Kassait William to appear before me on the 31st day of October 2023 at exactly 0900hrs without fail for purposes of interrogation and statement recording,” the notice read in part.

In a video seen by Nairobi Leo.co.ke the three lawmakers arrived before Rift Valley region DCI coordinator Charles Kanyuira Kamket in the company of other leaders from Pokot.

The trio however did not comment on the allegations they are being summoned with.

This comes at a time when the National Police Service (NPS) and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) are doing a joint operation in the North Rift Region.
