Infotrak has ranked Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya as the best-performing governors in the country with a score of 70 percent each. 

In a report released on Tuesday, October 31, Infotrak ranked West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin as the third best-performing county boss with a score of 67 percent followed by Kisii Governor Simba Arati, Murang’a Governor Irungu Kanga’ta, Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai and Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior all with a score of 64 percent. 

The research firm ranked Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wesley Rotich in eighth place together with Embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and Kitui Governor Julius Malombe all with a score of 63 percent.

In terms of regions, Governor Natembeya tops the Rift Valley region with Wanga and Ken Lusaka leading the Nyanza and Western Regions respectively.

Abdulswamad Nassir leads in the Coast region, Governor Kanga’ta in the Central region, and Kilonzo in the Eastern region.

The ranking also placed most improved governors from their predecessors with Governor Wanga moving from position 45 to position 1 and Natembeya moved from Position 42 to position 1.

Mwangaza moved from position Position 38 to position 8 while Samburu’s John Lati moved from position 48 to position 17.

The survey was conducted between July and August 2023 covering all 47 counties with an overall sample of 58,748 people.
