Former Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential running mate Martha Karua has filed a petition in the East African Court of Justice to challenge the Supreme Court's ruling on the 2022 presidential elections.
In the petition filed on Thursday, November 3, by Karua and the Muslims for Human Rights (MUHURI) organization, the petitioners cited the Attorney General as the first respondent.
The move comes after the Narc Kenya party leader previously said that she was considering a move to the Arusha-based court to seek justice.
She said the move was to be an individual one and was not in any way associated with the Raila Odinga-led Azimio coalition party.

“Because the court said that we have hot air, a hot air balloon can take me to East Africa. I am actually considering whether to travel on a hot air balloon to the East Africa Court just to discuss that judgement,” Karua stated.
Karua said that she respected the Supreme Court ruling that upheld President William Ruto's victory but maintained that she did not agree with it.
On the other hand, Raila, who also did not agree with the ruling, said that the country had the worst elections last August since the return of multi-party politics.
“We have had the worst election since the return of multi-party politics in our country. At the presidential level, it's not possible to tell whether we had elections at all,” Raila stated previously.
