The new NACADA CEO has taken over from John Muteti who was serving in an acting capacity.

The National Authority for Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has appointed former National Social Security Fund NSSF boss Antony Omerikwa as the new CEO.

In a statement on Wednesday, November 1, the authority announced that Omerikwa has taken over from Professor John Muteti who has been the acting CEO.

"The Authority has this morning welcomed the new CEO Dr. Anthony Omerikwa who has officially taken over from the immediate Acting CEO Prof. John Muteti. The ceremony was presided over by the Board Chairman Mairori," read the statement in part.

NACADA at the same time noted that Muteti will revert back to his substantive position of Director, Policy and Planning at the Authority. Muteti had taken over the role in May 15, 2023 following Victor Okioma retirement after serving for a term of five years.
