Millie Odhiambo was unable to provide Ksh 10,000 to her constituent, who ended up accusing her of neglecting her people.

Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo has shared how one of her constituents took offence at her inability to give her monetary help.

Identified as Marlyne, the woman had approached the lawmaker to seek help as regards her fare back to work.

Maryline had asked for Ksh 10,000 from the vocal lawmaker.

"I am supposed to report back to work today and I kindly request you from the bottom of my heart to support me with 10k to travel this morning so I can report back to work today. This will also help to sustain me as my finances are now nonexistent. Thank you and be richly blessed as you purpose to support me. Have a great day," the woman in need texted Millie.

Not in a position to give the needed help, the lawmaker turned down the request but sent the woman a message of goodwill.

Millie told her that she had committed her cash elsewhere and it would thus be impossible to help.

"Hello. Sorry will not be in a position to this time due to prior commitments but wish you the best," the MP precisely said.

Unhappy with the response, Maryline faulted her MP for turning down her request yet she had been seen helping in fundraisers.

"Every weekend you must go to fundraisers in other counties when you people are lacking Ksh 500 fare. Definitely, God sees You. You will not hear me asking for your help again. Your Day is coming," she said.

With the turn of things in their conversation, the lawmaker established the woman had served to guilt-trip her into giving but she would not fall for it.

Appearing to laugh it off, Millie said "this is very frequent and normal in leadership."
