Police in Sotik, Bomet County, are detaining two officers attached to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in connection with an explosion in a public entertainment joint they were in.

According to sources, two explosions were heard from the bar at the Chebole trading centre on Friday, October 10, prompting the locals there to contact the police.

The KDF duo comprises Alphonce Rotich stationed in Nanyuki and Peter Kibet based at Modika, Garissa County.

The officers, armed with grenades, had joined the revellers at Daima Bar and Restaurant where the explosions were heard.

Acting on the information from the members of the public, law enforcers from the Mutarakwa Police Post were dispatched to the bar.
