Lawyer Danstan Omari has sued the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for not taking any action against the Kenya National Examination (KNEC) over the result errors in the 2023 KCPE exams.

Addressing the media on Monday, November 27, Omari said the KNEC headquarters is a scene of crime and people should be arrested and charged over the errors.

“We have also sued the Inspector General of Police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations because the Kenya National Examination (KNEC) headquarters to us is a crime zone, people must be investigated culprits arrested, and charged for the injustice,” said Omari.

The vocal lawyer at the same time said he has filed another case on behalf of two schools seeking to stop the Form One selection process.

“We have filed two cases on behalf of two different schools and we are likely to have more of cases being filed from tomorrow,” he stated.

Omari argued that KNEC should resolve the results errors before the Form One selection process begins.

“Results are announced, and students are getting results for subjects they never enrolled. Students who enrolled in Kiswahili are getting marks for sign language then KNEC wants everybody to be an idiot to believe that it was a simple error, they have admitted that there were irregularities, if the errors were done why can’t they resolve them before selection,” he questioned.

The advocate further wondered if the move by KNEC to release the examination was politically motivated.

“Look at the speech at which KNEC released the results, is there a calculated move because almost all the performing schools previously have errors are we dealing with the examinations politically?” Omari posed.
