Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has launched a new credit facility targeting civil servants. 

The fund is set aside for the Ministry of Public Service works in collaboration with HELB for Civil Servants in the National Government, County Governments, and National Police Service to pursue postgraduate studies including Masters and PhD.

According to HELB, the new credit facility will be known as the Training Revolving Fund (TRF).

Applicants will receive up to Ksh500,000 a year with a repayment period of up to 72 months.

The loan will be charged at 4 per cent interest with no processing fee required.

Eligibility

Applicant must be a civil servant- an employee of a Ministry, County government or National Police service and the loan is strictly for postgraduate studies.

Requirements

Admission letter from a recognized university or training institution in Kenya.

Recommendation letter from the employer.

Copies of 3 months' latest pay slips with a net pay above 1/3 of basic pay (certified by employer)

Certified copy of the National Identity Card

Certified copy of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) PIN

Certified copy of National ID from two guarantors employed within the civil service.

Recent coloured passport-size photographs.
