Dennis Ombachi popularly known as the roaming chef has announced a partnership with the Thailand Embassy in Kenya.

In a statement via X on Friday, January 5, Ombachi said he will be working with the embassy on food diplomacy and cultural exchange. 

The former rugby player also noted that he is looking forward to exploring Thai culture and fostering relationships. 

“Thrilled to announce my collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy Thailand in Kenya on a journey of food diplomacy and cultural exchange. Looking forward to exploring the rich tapestry of Thai cuisine and culture, fostering connections that transcend boarders,” Ombachi stated.

This comes a month after Ombachi partnered with the Chinese Embassy in Kenya for a food diplomacy gig that involved cultural exchange, culinary partnerships, and initiatives to foster global understanding through shared gastronomic experiences.

He worked with Chinese chef Lui Longfei in the Chinese Food Extravaganza event held at Panari Hotel.

Ombachi rose to the limelight during the covid 19 pandemic period through his amazing cooking skills with his popular 'done' phrase endearing him to netizens.

Before becoming an internet sensation, Ombachi was a professional rugby player who represented the Kenya Rugby 7s team. He retired in 2020 to focus on the food and hospitality industry.
