Fresh details have emerged over the brutal murder of a 20-year-old girl in Roysambu following the arrest of three individuals linked to the act. 

According to detectives probing the case, the suspect accused of dismembering the girl stayed in Ruaka for a couple of days before committing the act. 

Police unearthed this new information by triangulating the mobile phone number used to book the short-term rental apartment in Roysambu. 

Preliminary reports indicated the suspect met the murdered girl on Instagram before establishing contact. The 20-year-old is believed to be a student at a local university.

However, the information about their meeting could not be elaborated as the police barred her family from speaking to the media.

The detectives informed the family that they were still hunting for the girl's head before giving a conclusive identity report to the family.

Information About Arrested Suspects

The police arrested three individuals who are being treated as persons of interest in the Roysambu murder.

The three were grilled up to late on Monday, January 16 after they matched the identity of the person captured on CCTV booking a room in Roysambu. 

One of the suspects was intercepted at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). He was nabbed after raising suspicion.

The suspect is believed to be a Nigerian national who was planning to travel using a Mozambican passport. He was intercepted before boarding a plane, grilled, and transferred to the Kasarani Police Station pending identification.

Detectives are however expected to continue with forensic examinations including obtaining DNA and fingerprints details of the three suspects in custody. 

The body parts were discovered on Sunday dumped in a trash bin in Roysambu. The property proprietor called the police and informed them of the incident.

Rushing to the scene, police discovered the body parts without the victim's head. The CCTV footage obtained later gave them clues on the suspect's identity who was recorded wearing a white cap and spectacles.
